At 3:44 am on the same day, the maintenance emergency team of the Yanru section of the Wuhan Shenzhen Expressway received a dangerous situation report, stating that a large-scale slope collapse occurred at G0422 (Wuhan Shenzhen Expressway) K514+200 in the north to south direction (five kilometers south of the Yandi Ling toll station), and the expressway was blocked in both directions. After receiving the report, the Yanru section maintenance emergency team immediately activated the relevant emergency plan and organized the minor repair and maintenance units in the jurisdiction to rush to the collapse site for disposal.

According to preliminary on-site survey, the slope of the mountain collapsed by about 80 meters, with an average height of 3 meters of soil and rock. The amount of collapsed soil and rock is about 8000 to 10000 cubic meters. The Zhuzhou Branch of Hunan Expressway Group and its maintenance and road management personnel, who rushed to the scene for emergency response, joined forces with the Yanling Expressway traffic police to evacuate stranded vehicles in an orderly manner. At the same time, they arranged for minor maintenance units to transport the cargo of the accident vehicle, and placed safety cones and warning signs to complete the remote diversion of the collapse point.

The highway traffic police remind that due to the large amount of earthwork, it is not possible to open traffic on both sides in a timely manner. The rush time is yet to be determined, and passing vehicles are advised to take a detour. The detour route is to head north and exit the highway from Zhongcun Toll Station, then take National Highway 106 to Yanling West Toll Station and onto the highway; Go south and get off the highway from Yanling West Toll Station, then take National Highway 106 to Zhongcun Toll Station and get on the highway.

At present, the high-speed traffic police are still implementing traffic control on the south direction of the entrances to the Chaling, Huanxi, Yandi Ling, and Yanling West toll stations on the G0422 Wushen Expressway, as well as the north direction of the entrances to the boat shaped, Zhongcun, Bamianshan, Shatian, and Tianzhuang toll stations. At the same time, the entrances to the Yanling East and Shennonggu toll stations on the G1517 Puyan Expressway are also under control, and vehicles only enter and exit.
