Alibaba's Beijing Headquarters Is Under Construction, With a Total Investment Of 6.4 Billion Yuan Completed In 2024

On the morning of December 27th, Alibaba's Beijing headquarters held a groundbreaking ceremony in the park. Alibaba Chairman and CEO Zhang Yong stated that the park has a total investment of 6.4 billion yuan and a construction area of 470000 square meters, and will be completed in 2024.

It is reported that Alibaba's Beijing headquarters is located in the North District of Electronic City, Chaoyang District, on the north side of Laiguangying East Road and the west side of Planning Fifth Road. This is a landmark moment for Alibaba's "Beijing+Hangzhou" dual center and dual headquarters strategy, as well as a new milestone in Alibaba's cooperation with Beijing.

Zhang Yong stated that Beijing, as a hub of technology, culture, and talent in China, has enormous advantages. In 1999, after climbing the Great Wall in Beijing, Teacher Ma returned to Hangzhou and founded Alibaba, making Beijing the place where Alibaba's dream began.

Zhang Yong said that Alibaba currently has 110000 employees and, after 20 years of development, has taken the lead in fields such as e-commerce, payment, and logistics.

As the capital, Beijing is a highland of technology, culture, and talent. We insist on rooting in Beijing and making contributions to the innovative development of the capital.

In fact, since 2016, Alibaba has implemented a strategy of dual headquarters in Hangzhou and Beijing. Currently, Alibaba's main business has settled in Beijing, with 13000 employees in Beijing, of which technology accounts for about two-thirds.

"It can be said that Alibaba is an authentic Beijing enterprise," Zhang Yong said. Alibaba will "persist in rooting in Beijing and contribute to the innovative development of the capital.
